Welcome
This
website has come about as a result of a sudden desire around
April/May 2005 to find out more about my family.
When I first started I really did not know
exactly what I intended to do - so as a start I started a
family tree on the Genes Reunited website - from the information
I already had and what I had managed to glean from my mother.
I had an unexpected early result from here
that enabled me within a couple of weeks to have a large portion
of my maternal line the GOVERS back to 1675 - my thanks to
Sue Gover whose spreadsheets have saved me many hours of research.
Because of this good fortune I started to
look at my paternal line - unfortunately I did not have the
same luck here so quickly. As there appeared to be little
information about the BARNECUTT family available on the Genes
Reunited site I decided to join the Cornwall Family History
Society. This proved to be another good move as out of the
blue in September 2005 I received a letter from Marilyn and
Doug HENSHAW who live in Ontario, Canada. After an exchange
of correspondence I also received an email from a Theodore
(Ted) BARNECUTT living in Yuba City, California, USA - it
transpires that Marilyn, Ted and I have a common ancestor
Thomas BARNECUTT who was born around 1752 in St Pinnock, Cornwall
and married a Mary WARN in October 1776. Once again I extend
my thanks to Marilyn, Doug and Ted who have also saved me
many hours of research.
During this year the site has undergone a major structural change and everbody contained within now has a page of their own.
Each section now has an index list which names everbody in the section - first by year and although not in every case as far as possible alphabetically by first and second names.
